Morson Group is the third largest engineering staffing firm in the world operating in over 60 global locations.

The ability to cache data to be uploaded when a suitable connection is available ensures no worker is left behind

Accessing documents such as RAMs or method statements via the mobile app created efficiencies at the start of a shift

Understanding actual hours worked in real-time will improve the accuracy of fatigue management

Morson were looking for a solution to ensure that they could demonstrate the right worker was in the right place at the right time for their client, Transport for London (TfL) - a local government body providing rail services in the UK.
Morson's operational teams manage demanding shift patterns and safety-critical environments, often relying on separate systems for resource planning, wellbeing, and compliance. This fragmented setup made it difficult to gain a real-time view of fatigue risk, wellbeing trends, and time-on-task data.
Fit for Work’s integration with Signal brings these critical elements into one connected workflow - simplifying processes for operatives, supervisors, and management alike.
Here’s how it works on the ground:
- Resource planning via Signal: Planned hours and rosters flow directly into the Fit for Work platform.
- Pre-shift check-ins: Operatives complete short safety, wellbeing, and fatigue prompts, with facial recognition verifying identity.
- Real-time alerts: Supervisors receive automatic alerts when potential risks are flagged, enabling early intervention.
- Targeted support: Operatives are nudged to relevant resources and toolbox talks - accessible even when working underground or offline.
- Accurate time and attendance: Actual hours worked are captured in-app and reconciled against planned hours from Signal.
- Feedback loop: Daily insights feed into quarterly wellbeing and safety reports, providing leadership with actionable data.

By connecting Fit for Work with Signal, Morson gains a single, practical view of workforce health, fatigue, and attendance - administrative effort and improving early visibility of risks.
For frontline teams, the process is simple and consistent. For leadership, the benefits are measurable: improved safety oversight, clearer wellbeing trends, and data that supports both compliance and culture change.

Design Rationale- a specialist architectural metalwork and glazing contractor - needed to put additional safety measures in place to protect their staff and to reassure the main contractor that project work was safe to continue.
The company looked for new technologies that could support a safe return to work, including temperature checking devices, thermal imaging cameras and supporting mobile software.
